CATEC, Centre for Advanced Aerospace Technologies, is the only technology centre in Spain exclusively dedicated to the aerospace sector, promoted by the Junta de Andalucia through FADA, Andalusian Foundation for Aerospace Development, private entity. A centre in which more than 60 engineers and doctors work in the development of advanced manufacturing technologies for Airbus, Tier Ones and SMEs in the Supply Chain, reference of public-private partnership. Its main objective is to contribute to the improvement of the competitiveness of companies in the aerospace sector through scientific research, technology transfer and advanced services. In its nine years of experience, it has become one of the most active technology centres in national and European R + D + I projects. It is leading European research in diverse areas such as systems and unmanned aircraft (RPAS / UAS), automation and advanced robotics or new aeronautical manufacturing technologies and materials, acquiring great relevance worldwide thanks to the coordination and participation in various initiatives. It also stands out for the innovative technologies and services to improve production in the aeronautics industry, under the new concept of `Factory of the Future´ or `Industry 4.0´. Currently, it has more than 60 R + D + I projects underway with the traction companies (mostly Airbus) and the main SMEs in Andalusia.
