Experts and aeronautical companies discussed the challenges and trends in manufacturing processes for the aerospace

More than 150 managers and professionals in the aerospace sector participated on March 10 in the conference "Trends in production for the aviation industry", in which various experts and companies specialized in manufacturing analyzed in Aerópolis the main challenges, trends and innovative technologies related to the so-called "Factory of the Future" or "Industry 4.0", applied to manufacturing techniques in this sector.

The event was organized by Interempresas Group, with the collaboration of the Center for Advanced Aerospace Technologies (CATEC), Aerópolis, HÉLICE Cluster, and BIEMH. It was inaugurated by María José Asencio, Secretary General of Innovation, Industry and Energy from the Junta of Andalusia, who was accompanied by Joaquín Rodríguez Grau, CEO of Aerópolis and director of CATEC; and several representatives of large companies such as Airbus, Alestis Aerospace and Aernnova, plus Interempresas Media.

The conference addressed key issues such as the automation of aeronautical processes with versatile robots, additive manufacturing (3D printing) in aircraft construction, systems for increasing productivity in the industry, the challenges for the sector in Andalusia and Spain and new business areas.

In particular, speakers from companies and organizations such as Airbus Defence and Space, CATEC, Aernnova, and BIEMH have participated, among others. The day ended with a technical visit to CATEC facilities where exposed some of the technologies developed by the center in the field of “Factory of the Future” and some practical demonstrations attendees were performed.
